I love Dre Bly for good now (as though I didn't before), many props to him for taking a stand against the real problem, Joey Harrington:
"One guy in particular ... is the cause of this whole thing," Bly said on the NFL Network. "It's not hard to figure out. ... The quarterback here has been bad. ... He has not really gotten the job done ever since I have been here. ... I really believe Coach would not have been fired if Jeff (Garcia) would have been healthy."
And he expounded to the Free Press.
"Joey's been here four years," he said, "and being the No. 3 pick in the draft, he hasn't given us anything."

New Favorite Channel
Not that I really should be watching any television at all with all of the homework that I have, but lately I just cannot resist A&E. I am a reality TV junkie, and shows like Dog the Bounty Hunter, Growing Up Gotti, and most especially Reality 1, really capture my fancy. If you haven't been fortunate enough to catch an episode of Reality 1, I highly suggest it. Basically these two guys go around the country, find random people down on their luck, and attempt to hook them up with people who can help them get on top of things or achieve their life long dreams. So love it.

Happy Bunny
I know Happy Bunny is kinda played out (at least I think he is) but there are some things he says that I will always find funny. Like that little tin of mints that has "POISON" crossed out and "Mints for Friend" written in. Or this, which is so very, very true.

Jake's in the Element
My dear friend Jacob is the proud new owner of a brand new beautiful Honda Element. I'm extremely excited about this because it was the vehicle that I was advocating for him to get. When he took me for a ride in it, I was not dissapointed. It's beautiful! Not only does it lack the weird black plastic on the outside of previous models, the interior is way cooler than I expected. "Stadium seating" in the back seat, a massive sunroof, and seats that fold down to make a giant bed for camping make it into one of the most amazing things I have experienced (I know, I need to get out more).
But now I'm jealous... not that I don't love my "new" Geo, it's just dang, that thing is a beaut.

The Usual Suspects
I'm sitting upstairs at Rendez-Vous again (I know you are surprised), attempting to finish this paper that's been giving me a lot more trouble than I expected (bad paper, No!) and it is super quiet up here. This can obviously be explained by the UofM/Ohio State game that's going on at the moment, you know everyone in town is either there or at a tailgate or something.
Except for not everyone is there... I'm not there, and neither is my little Rendez-Vous family. The Usual Suspects, as I so fondly call them. The group of individuals that come here every day to study, like me. I don't know their names, nor do I really care to, but I know they've got my back. And I've got theirs. How sweet.

Hey peeps, check out this cute halloween pic of Smita and her friends as Vikings. She's the one on the left, in case you can't guess. Adorable!
Love the pic but it sure does make me miss her!

My Pal Willie
I've loved Willie Nelson since I was a very small child, and that love has never waned. I find his voice and song selection positively soothing, and it is highly conducive to my study habits (one earphone bud in, one out). God, I love this man. He must be like a hundred years old or something, huh? I hope he lives a hundred more.
I think what I'm trying to say is that I want Willie Nelson to be my buddy. For some reason, I don't think he's really going to go for that.

KTC Needs
I forget what those things are called, where someone emails you a bunch of questions about yourself and then you're supposed to fill it out and send it to all your friends with the hope that they will do the same. The new, internet savvy, bastardized form of the age-old chainletter. I almost never respond to those, with the exception of if they are from my mother (she gets mad if I don't), if they are super short and from a good friend, or if they are really innovative and fun. I stumbled across this one, and I really like it... very funny and interesting to do.
So what you do is go to google and type in "[your name] needs" (yes, in quotes) and copy and paste the sentences that come up in the list of results. It's great, at least I think so.
Here are my lists and you people better paste yours in the comments or your family will be cursed for at least 7 years (okay, maybe not, but do it anyway).
KTC needs...
KTC needs to hear from you about the future of our club.
KTC needs to start petitioning the appropriate authority.
KTC needs to consider this
"new" technology.
KTC needs help with fund raising.
KTC needs your help!
KTC needs some challenges!
Katie needs... (guess how many of these are about recent Scientology phenomenon Katie Holmes)
Katie needs to go.
Katie needs a project manager.
Katie needs to follow up.
Katie needs to get a grip.
Katie needs to figure out if she wants to move forward, maintain old friends, or what kind of person she is going to be.
Katie needs to say no.
Katie needs love and affection.
Katie needs to talk to her friend.
Katie needs a quiet(ish) life.
Katie needs help but she deserves a second chance.
Katie needs extra time.
Katie needs a C-section.
Katie needs to stay away from those negative web sites and focus on what she needs to do!
Katie needs to run far, far away.

"New" Car
Thanks to the generosity of mankind, I've finally gotten some wheels. A friend of a friend was trying to get rid of a well-running 1990 Geo, and he gave it to me for FREE. Are you kidding? That's amazing. And for sure will get me around town for emergencys and late night studying which is all I really need.
It's insured, I've still got to get it registered, but I'm SO RELIEVED. It will be so nice to have that aspect of independence back. Thanks to all who simpathized with my plight, and thanks even more so to those who carted me around the last few days.
WOO HOO! I've got some wheels!

Don Vito's Dog
This might be kinda a weird post. We'll see how it turns out, but I apologize in advance if it sucks.
People watching in the morning while I am waiting for the bus is really interesting. I see all kinds of people: kids going to school, business men walking downtown to work, and of course runners and bikers (damn people with too much motivation and energy, I hate them). Sometimes, and always when I am waiting out there around 7:30, I see Don Vito walking his dog. You understand that this guy is not the actual Don Vito, but that's what I have named him. They look very similar.
As if it wasn't weird or amusing enough that the dude looks like Mr. Vito, what he does every morning is equally strange. He parks his car on the street in front of my bus stop, gets the dog out and walks away. About five minutes later, he comes back. Without the dog!! The first time I saw this, I immediately thought the worst... Don Vito had ditched the dog somewhere in Eberwhite Woods or totally abandoned him elsewhere. I did think that it was possible that someone dogsits for him during the day, but then, what is the point of parking the car so far from the destination?
You will be happy to know that since that first time, I've seen the dog again, so he's not tied up to a random tree somewhere. But I'm still curious about what Vito is doing. So I made up a story about it that rather suits me.
So this is what is going on. Vito and his (now ex) wife just went through a messy divorce, mainly because she thought that he was fat, lazy, and didn't take care of himself. She just couldn't stand that he couldn't make some sort of effort, even when she threatened to leave him. So, hence the divorce. But they had this dog, see, and they both loved him a lot so they decided to do the joint custody thing. She works from home so she gets the dog during the day while Vito is at work.
Now, in an effort to impress and possibly win back his ex-wife, Don tells her that he is exercizing by walking the dog all the way from his apartment to her house every day. Unfortunately, he can't actually bring himself to do this, so he parks the few blocks away so she won't see him drive up.
Well, there you go. I'm pretty strange, huh? This is what I think about while on the bus. A girl can't study all the time.

Third Annual Liberty Halloween Party
Hmm... don't really know what to say about the party except it was stressful but very fun. People got drunk and effed up my house, I dropped a camera that wasn't mine on the kitchen floor (yes, it broke), and Brad's brother almost pissed in my recycling bin. Wait, did I say it was fun?
I guess it was, but I don't want to do it ever again. So when next Halloween is approaching and I start yapping on about having a party, please, please remind me of this post.
I think the best thing about the party was the costumes. Everyone looked amazing. Among my favorites: Metrosexual Satan, Spaceghost, David Bowie from Labrynth, Joe Dirt, and members of Team Zissou. Of course, you can see that Keri and I looked great, as the goddess Nike and a Detroit Lion, respectively.
